Our story
It began in Paris.
We met in London while studying for our master's degrees at King's College London. On a trip to Paris, we realised how much we shared: a love of fashion, of design and of the finer things in life. We kept saying the same thing to each other: one day, we should start a brand.
Ten years later, on a holiday in Hong Kong, Jing said it again, and this time we meant it.
It still amazes us that the idea was born in Paris, and that every Public Secret bag is now made there. We wanted to create products of very high quality with design that is truly beautiful and unique, and to show the world what we can make. That is Public Secret.

We design bags and jewellery for people who understand that real luxury is quiet. Strong shapes. Honest materials. Details you notice on the second look. Nothing here is made to fill a shelf, and nothing is made to shout. Every piece has to earn its place.

Design philosophy
Design with a point of view.
We start with form. Each silhouette is drawn to hold its shape, from the architecture of the Passy Tote to the chain-linked curve of the Rivoli small bag. Then we remove everything that doesn't belong. What's left is a piece with presence, not decoration.
Bags and silver, designed together
One wardrobe. Two crafts.
Most brands make bags or jewellery and hope they match. We design them side by side. The polished metal on our bags and the solid silver in our jewellery share the same lines and the same finish, so you can wear them together without trying.
Materials you can feel.
Full-grain cowhide leather
The strongest, most natural layer of the hide. We keep its original surface rather than sanding it away, so it softens, darkens and develops a patina that is yours alone.
Solid 925 sterling silver
Real silver, not plating. It has weight, it lasts, and it can be polished back to brilliance for as long as you own it.
Responsibly sourced
Our handbags are meticulously handcrafted in Paris, France, using top-quality cowhide ethically sourced from trusted, certified tanneries in Europe.

Bags: Paris
Our bags are cut, stitched and finished in Paris. We collaborate with master leathercrafters who have honed their skills across generations, because we believe true quality demands time, patience and passion. We work exclusively with certified workshops that meet international standards for quality and ethical labour practices.
Jewellery: Hong Kong
Our jewellery is made in Hong Kong, in workshops that blend modern design with centuries of artisanal tradition. Every piece is checked by hand before it is packed.
Small runs
Limited on purpose.
Our signature series is made in small quantities. It means closer attention to each piece, and it means yours is unlikely to be everywhere. When a piece is gone, it's gone.
The name
Why "Public Secret"?
Almost everything we wear is public. The reasons behind it are not: why you chose a certain bag, what a piece means to you, what you carry inside it. Those stay a little secret. Public Secret is about the space between what the world sees and what only you know. A secret worth showing.

We started Public Secret because we kept coming back to the same thing: design. We wanted to make products of very high quality that were also truly beautiful, something unique, and to show what we can create. The idea began on a trip to Paris, and it took us ten years to act on it. Thank you for being part of this.
